TVGFantasy Game Official Rules
2008 Summer/Fall Game
Objective:
Users will vie to score the most total points among a team of fourteen horses (twelve active), two jockeys and two trainers.
Team Eligibility:
Users may select up to fourteen horses, two jockeys and two trainers at a time. Seven female (fillies and mares) horses and seven male horses (colts, geldings, ridglings and horses) will be represented in the game. You may select six active horses and one reseve horse for each group (male and female).
Game Dates:
Friday, June 6th through Saturday, October 25th, 2008
Add/Drop:
You are limited to a TOTAL of 48 transactional additions (Jockeys, Trainers AND Horses) to your stable.
This transaction total includes the initial addition of items to your stable leading up to the start of scoring (the period beginning on May 15th through June 5th).
You may drop as many items as you would like. You may move a horse from active to reserve and vice-versa as many times as you would like – this move will not count as one of your transactional additions.
If you pick-up a horse, jockey, or trainer with one of your additions, his/her points count toward your stable on the next racing day and not before (Midnight/ET is the cutoff time).
Scoring:
Users will receive points based on the performance of their stable based on United States races only (Japan and Canadian races are EXCLUDED) the following:
Trainer: 5 Points for each Stakes win above $40,000
Jockey: 5 Points for each Stakes win above $40,000
Horse: Horses receive Point amounts vary by race type: from the highest for a Breeders' Cup race, to GI, GII, GIII and un-graded stakes races (75K and up and 40K and up). Horses score points if they finish in the top 4. Certain handicap races such as starter handicaps are not defined as stakes races by Equibase, the official results provider of the game.
- Belmont Stakes and GRADED Breeders' Cup Races: 80, 60, 40, 20
- Grade I: 60, 40, 30, 15
- Grade II: 45, 25, 20, 10
- Grade III: 35, 20, 15, 8
- Non-graded Stakes, 75K and up
(includes Sunshine Millions): 25, 15, 10, 5
- Non-graded Stakes, 40K and up: 10, 7, 5, 3
The non-graded Breeders' Cup races on Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th will be treated as non-graded Stakes, 75K and up based on the result file classification from Equibase.
Only horses that were added to your stable and marked as active the day before the race will earn points for that race. The horse also must remain in your stable and active until the results are received and processed, and points are awarded. All times in the game are Eastern.
Only jockeys and trainers that were added to your stable the day before the race will earn points for that race. The jockey or trainer also must remain in your stable until the results are received and processed, and points are awarded. All times in the game are Eastern.
Prizes:
In addition to the prizes for the entire game, we will be offering $250 for the top point scorer in each month (June 6th - June 30th, July 1st - July 31st, August 1st - August 31st, September 1st - September 30th, October 1st - October 26th). In case of a tie in the particular month, the winner will be chosen by a random drawing run by TVG.
End of Game Prize Structure
- 1st place: $7,500
- 2nd place: $1,500
- 3rd place: $500
- 4th place: $250
- 5th place: $150
- 6th place: $100
Tie-Breakers:
In the event of a tie score among users, users will be ranked based on the following tie-breakers, where tie-breakers are used in sequence until the tie is broken:
- User with most horse wins.
- User with least amount of roster changes throughout the course of the season will win.
- Coin flip.
2008 Fantasy Challenge
Objective:

General Rules
These game rules are to be read in conjunction with and are governed by the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy of the TVGFantasy.com website ("TVGFantasy" or the "Site") which is owned and operated by ODS Technologies, L.P. (d/b/a/ TVG Network) ("TVG"). These Game Rules set out the legally binding terms for your participation in the game offered on TVG. TVG may modify these Game Rules from time to time and such modifications shall be effective upon posting by TVG on the Site. You agree to be bound by any changes to these Game Rules when you enter a new game after any such modification is posted. Your participation in the game is conditioned upon your acceptance of these Game Rules. The game may be subject to additional terms which are posted on the Site in connection with the game, and are incorporated by reference into these Game Rules. In the event of any inconsistency between these Game Rules and additional posted conditions, the provisions of the additional posted conditions shall control.
TVG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, or terminate your participation in the game at any time, for any or no reason, with or without prior notice.
Applicability of Game Rules / Legality of Participation in the Game
Employees of Sponsor and its agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, advertising & promotion agencies & immediate families (or persons residing in same household) of each are not eligible to win the prizes.
By participating in our game, you acknowledge that your failure to comply with these Game Rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of prizes and/or legal action against you, as appropriate and as further specified in these Game Rules. You may only participate in the game if you are over 18 years of age (or such other minimum legal age in the jurisdiction where you are connecting) and it is legal for you to do so according to the laws that apply in the jurisdiction from where you are connecting. You understand and accept that TVG is unable to provide you with any legal advice or assurances and that it is your sole responsibility to ensure that at all times you comply with the laws that govern you and that you have the complete legal right to play the game. Any participation in the game is at your sole option, discretion and risk. By playing the game, you acknowledge that you do not find the game to be offensive, objectionable, unfair, or indecent in any way.
No purchase is necessary to participate in the game, except for any cost you may incur to access the Site including costs charged by your Internet service provider or telecommunications provider. TVG reserves the right to suspend, modify, remove and/or add any game in its sole discretion with immediate effect and without notice and TVG will not be liable for any such action.
By participating in the game, you have the opportunity to receive email from ODS Technologies, L.P., the operator of the TVGFantasy website, about products and services offered by it or its affiliates.
Termination
You are entitled to withdraw from the game at any time by sending an email or contacting us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time provided that you continue to assume responsibility for all activity under your handle name until such closure has been effected by us. TVG is entitled to terminate this agreement immediately on notice (or attempted notice) to you at the email address you have provided to us.
Limitation on Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL TVG BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFIT DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF TVGFANTASY OR THE SERVICES, EVEN IF TVG HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. YOUR ACCESS TO THE SITE AND PARTICIPATION IN THE GAME IS AT YOUR SOLE OPTION, DISCRETION AND RISK. TVG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS OR ATTEMPTS BY YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME BY METHODS, MEANS OR WAYS NOT INTENDED BY THE TVG.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold TVG, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, and other partners, employees and service providers, harmless from any loss, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the Site or the services in violation of these Game Rules and/or arising from a breach of these Game Rules and/or any breach of your representations and warranties set forth above.
Results of Game
You fully accept and agree that if there is a discrepancy between the game result displayed on the Site and our server, the result showing on our server shall govern the result of the game. Moreover, you understand and agree that (without prejudice to your other rights and remedies) our records shall be the final authority in determining the terms of your participation in the game and any activity resulting from your participation.
Other
These Game Rules are accepted upon your participation in the game offered by TVG. The failure of TVG to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Game Rules shall not operate as a waiver of any such right or provision. Please contact us with any questions regarding these Game Rules at:
